Have you ever tried using kojic acid soap but it didn’t show any results?
According to this Tiktok video from user @kojicsoapqueen, there are three reasons why kojic acid soap isn’t working for you.
1. Not using it long enough.
In order for kojic acid to do its work, “you must leave it on for about 15-30 seconds on your face.” On you body, however, it has to be between “5-10 minutes.”
This is soooo freaking true!
For any skincare product to work its magic (especially BHAs like kojic acid), you must leave it on your skin for a certain amount of time.
If you’re just starting out with kojic acid, then I’d suggest 15 seconds or less, but if you’re a pro, 30 seconds to a minute might be ok (still watch your skin for irritation though).
Additional tip: You may want to use a facial or body scrub to exfoliate the skin first. This will help get rid the dead skin and will allow kojic acid to penetrate the skin deeper.
2. Be consistent.
“You have to use the soap for about twice a day.”
This, I think, is the hardest part as some people tend to forget to use the soap on a daily basis.
Unfortunately, using it a couple of times a week will not do its magic.
If you really want to see results, you’ve got to add it to your daily routine.
Stay consistent people!
And make sure that you have a routine setup.
3. Use maximum-strength kojic acid soap.
Every time I buy skincare products especially if it has something to do with hyper pigmentation, I always select the maximum-strength or the strongest version of that product.
Why?
It’s because my skin is sooo stubborn and it takes a really strong product to break down the extra melanin that’s been sitting on it for quite a while.
So, if you’re like me who need a super strong kojic acid soap to see a difference, then you may want to check this kojic soap.
